A series of small paintings reflecting upon the relationship between land and human conflict.

Battles are, and will be, fort over mythical concepts of what a land 'means'. These comforting Idylls that soothe and bind our identities - forge communities and give common purpose - hide ghosts of a violent history. A violence forged in the creation of this (an) identity. Landscape thirsts blood.
